Custom Shopify Checkout Text Box
Budget: $2 – $45 USD
The primary objective of this project is to develop a custom Shopify app that allows a text box on the checkout page to have a black background and white text, irrespective of the checkout theme colors. This functionality is crucial for providing specific, detailed information to paying customers during their checkout process, enhancing their overall experience. The secondary objective is to ensure that this app can be installed on a development store to verify its functionality and provide comprehensive documentation for future deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- The custom app will leverage Shopify's Checkout UI Extension capabilities to modify the appearance of a text box on the checkout page. Specifically, it will set the background color to black and the text color to white.
- The app will be designed to work independently of the checkout theme colors, ensuring consistent styling across different themes.
- All necessary files and folders will be packaged into a zip file, ready for deployment on any new Shopify store.
App Installation:
- The app will be installed on a development Shopify store to demonstrate its functionality.
- This installation will serve as a proof of concept, showing that the app works as intended in a real Shopify environment.
Documentation:
- Detailed documentation will be created, outlining all settings and values required for the "Custom App" development screens in the Shopify Partners dashboard.
- Step-by-step installation and configuration instructions will be provided to facilitate easy deployment on new stores.
- Screenshots and examples of the desired outcome will be provided to guide the development process.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in Shopify development, with a history of creating custom apps
- Experience in UI/UX design to ensure the app is user-friendly
- Familiarity with web development and e-commerce best practices
- Strong communication skills to provide detailed project proposals.

Checkout UI Extension is handled with the new Shopify UI Branding API.
There already exists a public shopify app that can do this functionality. This existing app has Too Many features for our needs - that is why we are having this Freelancer project here. The existing app URL is posted below.

Looking to hire an experienced shopify developer who can tackle this project & deliver within the next few days or less. This is an hourly project.
