Build Shopify 'Car Fitment (Year-make-model) app' / functionality (car filter)
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
While there are some apps for this already, after testing none is the holy grale, or if there is any, the monthly costs are extremely high.
So I want to know if someone could build this functionality for our Shopify shop(s);
In general: It is functionality to search CAR PARTS by entering Make, Model, Year (and optionally submodel or year range)
The filter should be visible on the homepage, where user selects his car. It results in collection pages where it is shown the shopify catalog, and keeping the default filtering in tact (price, material, color, etc)
While browsing the website, the CAR filter should remain ACTIVE on all browsing, searches, etc. Example: https://www.hkptuning.com
Detailed needs:
1. Make/model/year lookup. As described above
2. Make/Model/year information of all cars stored in shop (we have +- 5000 different cars)
3. Each product should be ‘connected’ to multiple car fitments. An item can fit a honda civic 1991, but also a Nissan skyline 1997. (catch: NOT just make 3 search fields for make/model/year, as then people can make wrong combination: like honda civic 1997, while only 1991 is available.)
4. Filter should remain active, until deleted or changed
5. Filter should be stored in a cookie, and recently choosen cars should be accessible from a function named ‘garage’.
6. Product pages should show car fitments, and a check with the selected car marked as fitment or NON fitment
7. Universal parts should be marked as such, fitting ALL cars, but labelled as being universal and shown in all views, AFTER the made to fit parts (sort order)
8. Landing page when car is selected should be showing categories (collections) or/and brands (collections)
9. Cars should be accessible by specific URL (to share)
10. There should be a backend interface to map the fitments to all the products, and an import/export function for it (excel)
The filters itself can be based on TAGS, but as these are limited in shopify, I think it is better to use metafields.
