Shopify Blog Layout Upgrade

My Shopify blog needs a handful of theme tweaks so it feels more like a real online magazine than a standard storefront add-on.
First, every article starts with an image, and I want to add a short caption directly on top of that photo. The text should sit on a semi-transparent background so it remains readable without hiding the picture. Ideally this is handled in Liquid with a simple field in the post editor so non-technical writers can type the caption once and see it rendered immediately.
Next, author information must live outside the default Shopify user system. I’d like to create standalone author profiles—photo, name, a few fast facts about their vita, plus clickable social media icons—and have that block automatically appear below each post. Each profile should be stored in a way that writers can update their own bio without touching code, perhaps through metafields or a separate “Authors” collection.
At the bottom of every article I want to surface one recommended read. The block should pull a chosen post and display its featured image, headline and sub-headline in a clean preview card. Think of it as a single-slot “You might also like” section, editable from the post settings.
Finally, the blog currently forces every inline image into the exact same aspect ratio. I need more flexibility—landscape, portrait and square options at minimum—selectable via a drop-down or class in the editor so the layout can breathe.
Key deliverables:

• Single recommended-article preview card with image, headline and sub-headline
• Multiple inline image size options integrated into the editor
