Senior Shopify Developer for Subscription-Based Meal Service (Long-Term)
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
We are building a premium subscription-based meal service and need an experienced Shopify developer to implement the core e-commerce and subscription flows for our platform.
This is not a simple store setup; we need someone who has previously worked on subscription or meal-prep style businesses and understands how to structure the logic inside Shopify.
Key requirements:
Implement subscription-based meal plans (weekly plans with recurring billing)
Set up a weekly rotating menu
Build meal selection limited by the chosen plan (e.g. 5 meals per week, 10 meals per week, etc.)
Implement protein upgrade logic per meal (extra charge for certain protein choices)
Delivery vs pickup selection in the checkout/flow
Weekly ordering cutoff logic before production (e.g. orders locked after a specific day/time)
Clean, conversion-focused front-end experience with a smooth selection flow
Tech expectations:
Strong Shopify theme customization (Liquid, JS, CSS)
Experience using metafields or similar to manage dynamic meal data
Experience with at least one subscription stack such as Recharge, Appstle, Skio, etc.
Ability to propose a clean architecture for how to handle weekly menus, selection limits, and upgrades within Shopify
Nice to have:
Past experience with meal subscription / meal prep / food delivery platforms
Ability to suggest best tools and apps from your past projects
