Overview

I need a Shopify expert to help me create a Shopify custom app in my store admin and generate the Admin API access token, then confirm the correct webhook + REST setup for an integration project. The code is already built by my developer — we are blocked purely on Shopify app/token + webhook configuration.

This should be a quick screenshare + step-by-step walkthrough with me.

What you will do (exact tasks)
1. Guide me to create a Shopify Custom App (from Shopify Admin) on my store (Grow plan / test store).
2. Set the correct Admin API scopes (minimum required) for:
• reading customers (optional if needed)
• reading orders
• webhooks (create/manage)
3. Generate the Admin API access token (Admin API access token) and show me exactly where it is.
4. Confirm webhook approach:
• which webhook topics we should use (e.g., orders/create, orders/paid, customers/create etc.)
• confirm how to verify webhooks (HMAC signature)
• confirm what the webhook payload includes and whether REST follow-up calls are required
5. Deliverables:
• A short written checklist (bullet points) of what was configured
• The exact scopes chosen
• Confirmation that the token is correct and usable
• Optional: help me register 1 test webhook endpoint (or show me where to do it)

What I already have
• Shopify store access (Admin)
• Shopify partner/dev dashboard access
• Developer code is ready
• We are not building from scratch, only unblocking token + webhook setup

Requirements (must-have)
• Strong Shopify experience (custom apps + Admin API tokens)
• Knows the difference between:
• custom app token vs OAuth token
• webhooks vs REST/Admin API
• Can work fast and communicate clearly
