Experienced Shopify Developer for Pre-Order Setup

We are looking for an experienced Shopify developer to assist with a short-term pre-order launch setup for an ecommerce store.
The project is straightforward but requires strong attention to detail, particularly around Shopify Flow automations, order tagging, and conditional product handling.
Scope of Work
1. Pre-Order Button Setup
During the launch period, all standard product “Add to Cart” buttons must be changed to:
“Pre-Order Now”
This should apply site-wide to applicable products only.
At the end of the launch period, the button wording must be easily reversible back to “Add to Cart”.

2. Gift Card Exclusion
Gift card products must remain excluded from the pre-order setup.
Requirements:


Gift cards should continue functioning normally


Gift card purchases should NOT trigger any pre-order logic or automation


If an order contains only gift cards, it should not receive the pre-order tag



3. Shopify Order Tag Automation
We need an automatic order tag applied to qualifying orders.
Requirements:


Apply a tag such as: pre-order-launch


The tag MUST be applied immediately at the moment the order is created


Timing is critical, as Shopify Flow/email automation will rely on this tag


Delayed tagging solutions will not work



4. Shopify Flow / Automation Compatibility
The setup must integrate correctly with Shopify Flow or equivalent automation triggers.
The successful freelancer should:


Understand Shopify Flow trigger timing


Ensure the automation reliably captures qualifying orders


Test and confirm the workflow functions correctly



Requirements

Experience modifying theme/cart/product button logic


Understanding of Shopify tags, conditions, and checkout/order workflows


Ability to test and troubleshoot automation timing issues
