read certificate key and generate assertion token

I have the attached code in .net4.6 that generates assertion token by reading thumbprint of locally installed cert. I need help in generating assertion token. At the moment it is crashing because the keys in the certificate are CSP and code cannot cast it. I will need a powershell script that will create a certificate with expiry of 5 years and will create private keys that are compatible with the attached code.
