Troubleshooting shell script

I have written a simple script to read the metal name (for example Zn) and another variable (number of unpaired electrons = 0 for Zn) and create a series of files. I get various errors showing there's something wrong with my script. I need someone to fix the issues for me. I guess for expert people the script and the explanations I have written in the script file are enough to understand what is happening but I can explain more if needed.
