Create a script to parse XML file on linux server

I have a XML file from a wholesaler with categories, but i need a script that grab specific categories from this XML file and save it as a new XML file with the filter for the categories i want to use for this XML file.
Its a very simple script for the right coder so please keep the bidding low.
