Summary
I’m looking for a senior Power Apps (Canvas) and Dataverse expert to help optimize a data-heavy dashboard and advise on a SharePoint → Dataverse migration challenge.
Project Overview
Canvas App backed by Dataverse
~7,000 records currently (scaling to 10k–50k+)
600+ active users
Dashboard with multiple filters (including multi-select status)
Records sorted by recency and displayed in galleries
Primary Goal – Dashboard Performance
The top priority is improving dashboard performance and scalability.
Requirements:
Fast initial load (do not load all records)
Default view shows only recent records
When users apply filters:
Query the full dataset
Support lazy loading / Load More
Older records must appear immediately if they match filters
Avoid delegation limits and heavy client-side processing
Solution must scale reliably as data volume and user count grow
Secondary Challenge – SharePoint → Dataverse Migration
We also need guidance on migrating Person/Group fields from SharePoint to Dataverse.
Challenges include:
Users not yet existing in Dataverse
Email / UPN mismatches
Azure AD Object ID resolution failures
Need best-practice guidance on:
Safely resolving users
