NYC Garment Design & Sewing
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I have an original clothing concept that needs to move from rough sketch to a polished, wearable piece. The work begins with refining my idea into a professional-grade pattern, selecting appropriate fabrics, and then cutting, fitting, and sewing the garment to completion.
Because fit is critical, I’d like to meet in person for measurements and at least one fitting, so being within the New York City metro area is essential. Once the pattern is finalized, a sample garment will confirm fit and overall construction quality before we proceed to the finished piece.
Key steps I envision
• Collaborate on final design details and workable pattern
• Advise on fabric and notions, then source or guide me to suppliers
• Produce a muslin/prototype for first fitting
• Adjust pattern if needed, then construct the final garment with clean finishing inside and out
I’ll provide sketches, reference photos, and inspiration boards at kickoff. Please be comfortable with pattern-making software or traditional drafting, professional sewing machines, and the usual pressing tools. If you can share examples of previous clothing projects—especially those requiring both design refinement and meticulous sewing—that will help confirm we’re a good match.
Finished deliverables: the updated pattern in a reusable format (digital or paper), one fitted sample, and the completed garment ready to wear.
