Casual Dress Construction Project

Job ID: 40440879

Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR

I’m working through a course project that requires me to turn my sketch for a casual dress into a fully finished sample, and I’d like an experienced garment maker to partner with me from first pattern to final press.

Here’s what I already have:
• A hand-drawn front and back sketch of a relaxed-fit, above-knee casual dress with short sleeves and a gently shaped waist.
• Basic body measurements and a mood board that covers colour palette, fabric weight, and trim ideas.

What I need from you:
1. Draft the pattern (digital or paper is fine) true to my measurements, with seam allowances, notches, grainlines, and a compact tech-pack style spec sheet.
2. Advise on suitable fabrics and notions in line with my classroom budget and supply list, then confirm yardage before I purchase.
3. Construct one clean sample in the agreed-upon fabric, applying industry-standard sewing techniques—neat top-stitching, properly finished seams, pressed at each stage.
4. Document key construction steps with quick phone photos so I can submit process shots for grading.
5. Post-construction: send the finished dress, pattern pieces, and a short note on any fit tweaks you’d recommend for a second iteration.

Acceptance criteria:
• Pattern aligns with the provided measurements within a 0.5 cm tolerance.
• All seams secure, no loose threads, hem straight to within 2 mm.
• Dress arrives pressed and ready to try on; pattern clearly labelled and fold-able for storage.

Preferred tools and techniques include Adobe Illustrator or CLO3D for pattern drafts (hand drafting is perfectly acceptable too) and domestic/industrial sewing machines capable of straight, zigzag, and overlock stitching.

Timeline is three weeks from award—one week for pattern approval, two for cut-and-sew plus shipping. I’m responsive to feedback and happy to jump on a quick call if a design clarification is needed.
