Deploy & Configure Bolt.DIY with Authentication System
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer to deploy Bolt.DIY, an open-source AI coding assistant, on our private servers and develop a robust account management system to support multiple users. The project involves setting up the Bolt.DIY application (Node.js, Remix, Docker) and integrating authentication and user management features (e.g., login, registration, role-based access, and user dashboards) using a service like Firebase, Supabase, or Clerk. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Node.js, authentication systems, and DevOps, with a focus on delivering a secure, scalable solution.
Project Scope:
1. Bolt.DIY Deployment:
• Deploy Bolt.DIY on our Linux-based server (e.g., Ubuntu 20.04).
• Configure environment variables for LLM API keys (e.g., OpenAI, Groq, Anthropic).
• Set up Docker for production deployment or direct Node.js setup, ensuring stability and performance.
• Configure a reverse proxy (e.g., Nginx) with HTTPS using Let’s Encrypt.
• Ensure the application is accessible via a domain or IP and passes basic functionality tests (e.g., generating and previewing code).
2. Account Management System:
• Implement user authentication (email/password, optional OAuth) using Firebase, Supabase, or Clerk.
• Develop login, registration, and password reset pages using Remix (Bolt.DIY’s framework).
• Create a user management dashboard for admins to invite, edit, or deactivate users.
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) with at least two roles: admin and user.
• Enable basic group management (e.g., assigning users to teams or projects).
• Ensure security best practices (e.g., secure API keys, rate limiting, input validation).
3. Testing and Documentation:
• Test all features, including deployment stability and account management functionality.
• Provide documentation for setup, maintenance, and user management processes.
• Offer one week of post-deployment support for bug fixes and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Node.js, Remix, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with Docker and Linux server administration (e.g., Ubuntu).
• Expertise in authentication systems (Firebase, Supabase, Clerk, or similar).
• Familiarity with Nginx, HTTPS setup, and Let’s Encrypt.
• Knowledge of WebContainers API (used by Bolt.DIY) is a plus.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Proven track record of deploying Node.js applications in production.
• Experience building secure, multi-user authentication systems.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and ability to provide regular updates.
• Proactive problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Deliverables:
• Fully deployed Bolt.DIY instance accessible via domain/IP.
• Account management system with login, registration, user dashboard, and RBAC.
• Source code committed to a private Git repository (e.g., GitHub).
• Documentation covering deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
• Test results confirming functionality and security.
• One week of postmanual support for bug fixes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Bolt.DIY or similar AI coding tools.
• Contributions to open-source projects on GitHub.
• Familiarity with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode).
• Understanding of LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq).
How to Apply: Please submit:
• A brief cover letter explaining your relevant experience.
• Links to previous projects or GitHub repositories showcasing Node.js, authentication, or DevOps work.
• Your proposed timeline and cost estimate (fixed price or hourly rate).
• Availability to start (ideally within 1–2 weeks).
Additional Notes:
• We will provide server access (SSH) and necessary API keys.
• Preference for developers who can commit to 20–40 hours/week.
• Milestone payments will be set for key deliverables (e.g., deployment complete, authentication implemented).
• We value clear communication and adherence to deadlines.
