WordPress & AWS EC2 Development
Budget: $8 – $15 CAD
(Expert-Level Only)
I’m looking for a high-level WordPress/AWS specialist to diagnose, repair, and stabilize a production WordPress site hosted on an AWS EC2 instance. A plugin (AffiliateX) caused page loss and admin-login issues, and I need an expert—not a hobbyist—to step in, clean up the environment, and restore reliable operation.
Once the site is stable, you’ll also support ongoing SEO development and help us launch and integrate our Shopify store.
What I Need (Must-Have Expertise)
You must be fully comfortable working in a live AWS environment and handling real infrastructure—not just clicking around WordPress. Specifically, you should have proven experience with:
Advanced WordPress troubleshooting, including plugin conflicts, theme repairs, database inspection, and recovery of lost or overwritten pages.
AWS EC2 administration, including access control repair, instance cleanup, backups/snapshots, security groups, and performance tuning.
Development workflow discipline, including Git-based versioning for all theme/plugin updates.
SEO fundamentals baked into technical development (schema, speed, structured content, metadata, URL hygiene, indexing, etc.).
Basic Shopify setup and customization, with an understanding of how it integrates alongside a WordPress marketing site.
Immediate Priorities
Fix the broken WordPress installation
Resolve the AffiliateX-related issues
Restore lost pages where possible
Re-enable secure WordPress admin access
Audit plugins/themes for stability and security
Stabilize and optimize the AWS EC2 environment
Ensure backups, snapshots, and deployment workflows are correctly configured
Clean up file structures, permissions, and any misconfigurations
Improve load time, caching, and general performance
Begin structured SEO improvements
Page speed tuning, caching, image optimization
Technical SEO fixes and on-page enhancements
Support the Shopify launch
Build and refine Shopify components
Maintain consistent branding, content flow, and integration points
Tech Stack Familiarity (Required or Strong Plus)
AWS EC2 (no Lightsail), SSH, Linux system basics
Git workflows for theme/plugin modifications
CloudFront, Route 53, and (optional) RDS tuning
WordPress theme and plugin architecture
Shopify theme/app configuration
Caching layers (e.g., object caching, CDN strategies)
Access & Workflow
I will provide SSH keys, WordPress admin access, and Shopify credentials after onboarding.
I expect:
Clear, professional communication
Weekly progress summaries
Clean, traceable commit messages
No trial-and-error guesswork—only experienced execution
Who Should Apply
Only apply if you can confidently manage WordPress development, AWS infrastructure, Shopify configuration, and practical SEO optimization as a unified workflow. If you’re a senior-level engineer or developer who has done this before, this project will be a great fit.
