Remove Negative Newspaper Articles
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Several outdated newspaper stories still rank on the first three pages of Google when anyone looks up my name, and they have started to impact new business opportunities. I want these pieces gone—full removal is my preferred outcome, not simple anonymisation or a quiet de-indexing. There are four to seven individual URLs involved, and I have never contacted the publishers, editors, or Google about them.
The assignment covers the entire takedown process:
• Audit current search results for every headline and URL involved.
• Draft and send all publisher or editor correspondence under my authorisation, following best practices for Right-to-be-Forgotten, defamation or privacy-based requests.
• Where legal grounds exist, file the appropriate Google removal requests (GDPR, state privacy law, or similar).
• Advise me on any additional legal avenues or third-party services that could accelerate removal.
• If a particular outlet refuses, deploy suppression SEO so the item is buried well beyond page three.
Deliverables I will accept
1. Written confirmation of outreach attempts for each URL (date, contact name, message).
2. Screenshots or official notices showing removal, takedown, or de-indexing by either the publisher or Google.
3. A brief report outlining any URLs that proved non-removable and the specific suppression tactics put in place for them.
Proven experience with reputation management, publisher negotiations, GDPR or US privacy frameworks, and Google’s Removal Policies is essential. Please estimate the timeline you’ll need for initial outreach and typical success rates based on similar cases. All communication and results must remain strictly confidential.
