We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated individual to join our team as an Indexing Support Specialist for Journals. As an essential member of our publishing department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful indexing of our journals in reputable databases and directories. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the visibility and impact of our published research, allowing us to reach a broader audience and further our academic mission.
Responsibilities:
Indexing Preparation: Collaborate with journal editors and authors to prepare articles for submission to indexing databases while adhering to their specific requirements.
Metadata Compilation: Compile and meticulously review metadata, abstracts, keywords, and other essential indexing information for each article.
Database Submission: Oversee the timely submission of journal content to various indexing databases, such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and others as applicable.
Indexing Compliance: Ensure that all journal content complies with the guidelines and standards set forth by the indexing databases to maximize the chances of successful inclusion.
Liaison with Indexing Entities: Act as the primary point of contact for communication with indexing databases and assist in addressing any inquiries or issues related to the journal's indexing status.
Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the indexing performance of our journals, providing regular reports to management on indexing success and areas for improvement.
Database Updates: Stay informed about updates, policies, and changes in indexing databases, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
Training and Awareness: Educate authors, editors, and other relevant stakeholders about the importance of indexing, and provide guidance on best practices to optimize articles for indexing.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of indexed data, rectifying any discrepancies as needed.
Research and Implementation: Explore new indexing opportunities and strategies, proposing initiatives to improve the overall indexing process and expand the reach of our publications.
