Advice Q&A - Technical SEO Question Gatbsy and XML Sitemap

I am looking for an expert in Technical SEO for some advice and guidance on a project with XML Sitemaps and Gatsby.
I have a few related technical SEO queries, wondering if someone can help shed some light.
I work for a business which has upgraded Gatsby to v4 (Reaktor), the developers have made an upgrade which has indirectly changed the plugin
Used to generate sitemaps for Reaktor.
Before the Gatsby V4 upgrade the sitemap was available at the following URL, for example in UK was https://www.businessname.co.uk/sitemap.xml but now it is available at the following URL https://www.businessname.co.uk/sitemap-index.xml . Is this something OK for SEO ? Would there be any issue with this or considerations to be mindful of?
Which other places (different to a robots.txt) would I need to consider that points to the sitemap file? For example Google Search Console ?
