PCB Design with Sensors and Rechargeable Battery

Compact Battery-Powered Sensor PCB Design (ESP32-S3) — KiCad Preferred

I'm looking for an experienced PCB designer to develop a compact, battery-powered PCB, ideally in KiCad (Altium acceptable).

Core Components

ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 microcontroller
4-wire full-bridge load cell interface (HX711 or equivalent)
SHT31 temperature and humidity sensor (I²C)
3-axis accelerometer (I²C) — designer's choice of part (e.g. LIS3DH, ADXL345) unless you have a preference, please propose one
Rechargeable 3.7V LiPo battery, ~1000mAh, connected via JST-PH connector
USB-C charging circuit with integrated battery management IC (overcharge/overdischarge/overcurrent protection required)
3.3V power regulation
Power on/off switch
Connector for an addressable RGB LED strip (WS2812B), sized for 10–30 LEDs — please size the power rail/connector accordingly, and note if a separate 5V boost is needed vs. running off battery voltage
Necessary decoupling, protection, and supporting circuitry for reliable operation
ESD protection on USB-C and battery input lines

Electrical Notes

Charging current target: ~500mA (open to designer recommendation based on battery capacity)
HX711 sample rate: standard 10SPS is fine unless designer recommends otherwise
Please recommend 2-layer vs. 4-layer stackup based on RF performance (ESP32-S3 antenna) and routing density within the board constraints below — will consider either depending on cost tradeoff
Antenna keep out for the WROOM-1 module must be respected in placement. Project requires IoT with ESP32-S3

Mechanical Requirements

Maximum PCB size: 44mm × 44mm
Must fit within a 46mm diameter circular enclosure
Small extension from one side to accommodate a USB-C receptacle
Four mounting holes for screws
Component placement optimized for available board space and manufacturability

Interfaces / Access

UART or USB-C native (ESP32-S3 has native USB) for programming/debug
Boot and reset buttons accessible
Silkscreen labeling on all connectors and test points
Connector pitch/part numbers: JST-PH for battery; designer's recommendation for load cell (4-wire) and LED strip connectors — please specify chosen part numbers in the BOM

Project Type

This is a prototype build — not initial production, but design should be clean enough to scale to small-batch production later without a full redesign

Bill of Materials (BOM) with part numbers and suppliers (JLCPCB or PCBWay compatible parts preferred)
Gerber files

Design must pass ERC and DRC checks and be suitable for fabrication
