QA Tester Needed for AI-Based Interview Platform (Multi-User Roles + End-to-End Testing)
Budget: ₹2,000 – ₹3,000 INR
My web application, www.selectwise.in, is ready for a round of thorough functional QA. I will share a detailed requirements document as soon as we start, but in essence I need every user-facing feature validated end-to-end across all major environments—desktop, mobile and tablet, on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
Your role is to design and execute a complete functional test suite, document every defect with clear reproduction steps, screenshots or screen recordings, and then verify fixes once they are deployed. Feel free to rely on tools such as Selenium, Playwright, BrowserStack, Postman, JIRA or TestRail if they fit your workflow; I care more about reliable coverage and clear reporting than about the specific stack you choose.
Description:
We are building an AI-powered interview preparation platform and are looking for an experienced QA tester to perform deep end-to-end testing.
Important Context:
• Application is in UAT (development phase)
• Features are still evolving
• You will test current functionality now and upcoming features (meeting integration) shortly
Scope of Work
Our platform has 3 user roles, and ALL must be thoroughly tested:
User Roles to Test
• Candidate
• Coach
• Admin
You must validate:
• Separate login flows
• Role-based dashboards
• Permissions & access control
• Data visibility per role
• Session handling (no cross-role leakage)
Phase 1 – Current Features
Candidate:
• Registration & login
• Booking AI interview
• Attending interview
• Viewing feedback
Coach:
• Access to assigned candidates
• (Future) Meeting coordination
Admin:
• Platform visibility/control (if applicable)
Core Focus: AI Interview Module
You must deeply test:
• Interview initiation
• AI-generated questions (relevance & sequencing)
• Response handling
• AI feedback/report accuracy
• Error handling (timeouts, API delays)
This is the most critical part of the system
Phase 2 – Upcoming (Within 1 Week)
• Meeting integration (Google Meet / Zoom)
• Coach shares meeting link
• Candidate joins via platform
• End-to-end session validation
Testing Expectations
Functional Testing
• End-to-end flows across ALL roles
• Role-based access validation
• Edge cases & negative scenarios
Security & Role Validation (Important)
• Ensure Candidate cannot access Coach/Admin features
• Ensure Admin-level access is protected
• Session isolation between roles
• Unauthorized access attempts
Performance / Stress Testing (Basic)
• Multiple concurrent users
• System response under load
Exploratory Testing
• Try to break workflows
• Identify usability gaps
Mandatory: Cross-Platform Testing
Browsers:
• Chrome
• Firefox
• Edge
• Safari
Mobile:
• Android devices
• iOS devices
• Responsive UI behavior
• Touch interactions
Additional Critical Scenarios (Must Test)
• User switching roles (logout/login flows)
• Session timeout handling
• Partial flow failures (e.g., interview interrupted)
• Data consistency across dashboards
• Re-login after failure
Bug Reporting Requirements
Each bug must include:
• Title
• Steps to reproduce
• Expected vs Actual result
• Screenshots/video
• Severity (Critical / Major / Minor)
Ideal Candidate
• Strong experience in end-to-end web app testing
• Experience testing multi-role systems
• Understands real user behavior, not just test cases
• Can think critically and identify hidden issues
Do Not Apply If
• You only follow basic test cases
• No real project QA experience
• You don’t understand role-based systems
To Apply, Answer:
1. How will you test a system with Candidate, Coach, and Admin roles?
2. How do you ensure role-based access is secure?
3. How would you test an AI-driven interview system?
4. Share one critical bug you found in a previous project
Please attach a detailed project proposal outlining:
• How you will break down the application for test case creation
• The device/browser matrix you plan to cover
• The tools you intend to use and why
• A high-level timeline and any milestone hand-offs (test plan, execution report, regression cycle, final sign-off)
Acceptance criteria for completion:
• Comprehensive test plan mapped to the requirement document
• Executed test cases with pass/fail status and evidence
• Defect log prioritised and retested until closure
• Final summary report confirming readiness for release
If this matches your expertise, I look forward to reading your proposal and getting started right away.
