Configure Selenium On Ubuntu VPS
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I run an Ubuntu VPS on IONOS and already have three cron jobs that drive a Chrome browser through Selenium. Right now the box is missing a properly configured Selenium server, so the jobs are failing.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Install Chrome (or Chromium) together with a matching Selenium Server/Driver. My version preferences are flexible—as long as the pairing is stable and well-supported, I’m happy.
• Register Selenium as a systemd service (or equivalent) so it starts automatically after a reboot.
• Verify that each of my three existing cron jobs launches, runs, and exits without errors.
• Hand over a brief text file with the basic installation and restart steps, nothing elaborate—just enough for me to repeat the process if I ever rebuild the server.
I’m not looking for extra monitoring or security tooling right now; the focus is strictly Selenium + Chrome. SSH access will be provided as soon as we agree to proceed, and I’ll be available to run quick tests or share logs in real time.
The work is done when the service is up, the cron jobs finish cleanly, and your short notes land in my inbox.
