Job ID: 39986990

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Project Description

I am looking for a developer with experience in file analysis, security, or structured data parsing (ZIP/JSON) to build a module capable of determining whether a .pbit file (Power BI template) contains potentially malicious or unauthorized content.

The goal is to have a mechanism that can analyze the file without executing it, and decide whether it represents a security risk before it is processed by other parts of the system.

What I Need

The module should be able to:

Inspect the internal structure of a .pbit file and detect suspicious, unexpected, or unsafe content.

Review internal components that may be sensitive (scripts, external connections, embedded files, etc.).

Produce a clear evaluation: safe, suspicious, or rejected.

Be delivered as a function, module, or service that can be integrated into an existing system.

I am not looking for a predefined solution.
Each applicant should propose their own approach and clearly explain how they plan to solve the problem.

What I Expect in Your Proposal

Please include:

Your approach or work plan:

Which techniques you would use to detect malicious content in .pbit files.

What elements you would analyze and how you would structure the validation.

Justification of the method:

I need to understand why your approach would be effective and reliable.

Clear deliverables:

A ready-to-integrate module or script.

Usage instructions.

Output format and structure.

Any technical requirements, if applicable.

Testing strategy:

Which test cases you would consider.

How you would verify that the module correctly identifies threats while minimizing false positives.
