ModSecurity & Fail2Ban Hardening

I have just deployed a fresh CyberPanel server and want to lock it down properly. Your mission is to enable and fine-tune ModSecurity with the OWASP Core Rule Set, then configure Fail2Ban so the machine can automatically kick out bad actors.

The focus is enhanced security. I care most about stopping SQL-injection probes, cross-site-scripting attempts, and SYN-style flood or scan traffic while making sure legitimate visitors never notice a thing.

Deliverables
• ModSecurity running on every site in CyberPanel, OWASP CRS fully loaded and tuned for low false-positives
• Any necessary custom exclusions or rule tweaks documented in comments and a short hand-over file
• Fail2Ban installed, tested, and jails verified to ban IPs that trigger the above attack patterns (plus any other critical services you identify)
• Clear step-by-step notes for future maintenance, including where configuration files live inside CyberPanel’s LiteSpeed / OpenLiteSpeed stack
