Job Post: FortiSIEM Deployment and Employee Training Specialist
Project Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced FortiSIEM Specialist to deploy a new FortiSIEM solution within our infrastructure and provide comprehensive training to our security and IT staff. This is a critical project to enhance our security monitoring, incident response capabilities, and overall security posture.
The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience with the FortiSIEM platform, from initial architecture and deployment to configuration, integration, and user education.
Key Responsibilities
1. FortiSIEM Deployment and Configuration:
o Plan, design, and execute the end-to-end deployment of the FortiSIEM solution in our environment (cloud, on-premise, or hybrid, to be discussed).
o Configure collectors, agents, and data sources (logs, events, performance metrics) from various network devices, security tools (e.g., firewalls, endpoint protection), servers, and applications.
o Develop and implement parsing rules and normalization techniques for effective data ingestion.
o Configure and fine-tune initial dashboards, reports, and alerts relevant to our security and compliance needs.
2. Integration and Customization:
o Integrate FortiSIEM with existing Fortinet products (e.g., FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer) and third-party tools.
o Customize correlation rules to detect advanced threats, insider threats, and policy violations specific to our business context.
o Configure incident response workflows and automation features where applicable.
3. Employee Training and Documentation:
o Develop and deliver role-based training sessions for our security analysts, SOC team, and relevant IT personnel. Training must cover:
Daily use and navigation of the FortiSIEM interface.
Advanced searching, filtering, and reporting techniques.
Alert triage, investigation, and incident handling best practices using FortiSIEM.
Creating and modifying dashboards and custom reports.
System health monitoring and basic maintenance.
o Create detailed documentation for the deployed architecture, configuration settings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for using the platform.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven, hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining FortiSIEM solutions in enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of SIEM best practices, security event log management, and threat correlation.
• Strong knowledge of networking, security concepts (IDS/IPS, firewall, VPN, etc.), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills for delivering effective technical training.
• Fortinet certification (e.g., NSE 5 or 7 in FortiSIEM) is highly preferred.
