Write a Windows Script to Capture Data Real-time from Thinkorswim ondemand - 21/03/2025 08:51 EDT
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm looking for a freelancer who can script a Windows tool that can send and capture specific data from the Thinkorswim Windows desktop client in ondemand mode.
- Tool: A windows app that can interact with other Windows apps to send and capture data - in order to script this project
- Data: I need to capture Options Pricing and Trading Volume data.
- Storage: The captured data should be formatted and stored in Excel (or CSV)
- Frequency: The data needs to be captured and updated in real-time.
Ideal candidates for this project should have:
- Basic knowledge of the Thinkorswim platform.
- Experience with real-time data capture.
- Ability to write a script for a windows tool that can capture data
The screenshot shows the needed steps:
(Start in the Trade tab)
1) Set the stock ticker symbol
2) Put Thinkorswim into OnDemand mode
3) Set the OnDemand date to 10/16/2024 at 3pm
Open the Options chain for at least 1 week out (in this case, Oct 25, 2024 - 9 days out)
4) Set column to Volume
5) Set column to Open.Int (Open Interest)
6) Capture the Strike price, Bix, Ask, Volume, Open Int. for 5 closest values around the strike price - in this case, $410 to $420
7) Store these in an excel sheet or CSV with one strike per row (example: $410, 2.77, 2.82, 335, 1525)
Thinkorswim client is free and this can be done on a demo account
It needs to be scripted so that the stock symbol and date are variables I can set.
