Azure DevOps simple deploy text file sample

Please note I am trying to get started with Azure DevOps.
If you can guide me with a sample you provide to deploy a text file to a remote server that is the project ?
1. how do we get this job in place ?
2. how do we handle credentials of the remote target server?
3. how do we confirm and test this job runs successfully?
Getting this working correct is the goal. It will be nice meeting you and surely an honor. Money is tight having cancer and being out of work, but if you can do this for a cost about $12 that would be appreciated as I can not afford anything high.
