War-Zone Action Screenplay

Job ID: 39782498

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I need to convert an action novel, Young Ayn Fleming, a 1-3 feature-length or 10-12 episode TV series length action screenplay set squarely in early WWII war zone. The story sets the fictional character into actual historical events that explain the development of the Bond character in a realistic and plausible manner. The tone should echo the style of James Bond as a young man with the relentless momentum of actual events and characters who changed the course of history. A variety of sequences must drive the story: young love, tragedy of family and love lost, visceral hand-to-hand combat and adrenaline-charged explosions in vignettes from his father's experiences in WWI, and a wide variety of high risk surreptitious travel scenes across all of Western Europe .

Much of the description and extensive dialogue are written in the novel already; what’s missing is a tightly structured script that marries clandestine authenticity with emotionally grounded stakes. The workflow I envision is:
Beginning with a comprehensive review of the story in the novel.
• Follow with a one-sentence logline and a 1-2 page synopsis to confirm we’re on the same page.
• Expand to a detailed beat sheet outlining major set-pieces, tactical maneuvers and character arcs.
• Deliver a full screenplay (Final Draft, PDF or Fountain) formatted to industry standards. The length depends on how the stories can be fitted to a 2-3 movie set, or a 10-12 part series for TV.
• One revision pass after my notes to polish dialogue, pacing and action directions.

Familiarity with realistic military tactics, weaponry, and the rhythm of clandestine operations will help keep each scene believable. If you routinely write explosive action while maintaining human drama, this project should be in your wheelhouse.
