Budget: $30 – $250 USD
General considerations
The aim of this work is to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the course, and to carry out
original and real research on a free topic, developing all the characteristic sections of the scientific
report and taking into account what is set out in topic 6 of the course.
Its presentation is MANDATORY for all students and can be carried out individually or in groups
of up to five people.
Its contribution to the final grade of the course is 30% (20% written work + 10% oral
presentation).
With regard to its extension, this is unlimited except in the sections that detail the contrary,
although the scientific article should be taken as a reference.
2. Format and structure of the work.
The presentation of the work should be done using the Word template attached to the task as
a model. It must also comply with the following conditions regarding its format:
• Text Arial 11, justified. Indentation first line 1 cm (the section of "References" French
indentation). Space above 3 points. The above does not apply to the cover, the format
of the template must be followed.
• Section titles Arial 16. Numbered list. Space up and down 12 points.
• Exact spacing at 17 points.
• Block quotes Arial 10, justified. Bleeding block 1 cm on each side. Spaced up and down
6 points.
• In the header of each of the pages (except the cover) the name of the subject.
• All work must comply with APA 7th edition standards.
As for the sections to be covered by the work, they are the following, which must be kept in the
order set out here:
• COVER. Title of the research, subject, author/s, group, faculty, academic year and date
(the latter in the footer enabled in the template).
• INDEX of the work.
• INDEX of tables and figures.
• ABSTRACT (between 150 and 250 words) KEY WORDS (between 3 and 5)
INTRODUCTION. Background and current status of the topic (the titles of the following
sections should not appear, but only contain the required information in the appropriate
order, following the model of introduction of a scientific article).
- General framework in which the research is contextualised.
- Theoretical and methodological foundations. Min. 500 words
- Importance of the study.
- Approach to the research problem (research question).
- Objectives (general and specific) and hypotheses (if applicable).
At least 10 references supporting the study must be cited (according to APA standards).
• METHOD
- Design (does not appear as a separate section).
- Participants. The sample must be real, both in experimental and descriptive
studies (minimum 40 participants in research using the questionnaire as a tool).
- Instruments and/or materials.
- Procedure.
- Data analysis.
• RESULTS
Attend to what is established in the APA standards for the presentation of tables and
figures. The analysis can be done with Excel or SPSS, although the latter will provide
added value.
• DISCUSSION
Comparing the results obtained with previous reference research. Remember that in this
section the studies must be cited according to APA standards. Min. 300 words and 5
references.
• CONCLUSIONS.
• LIMITATIONS AND FUTURE LINES OF RESEARCH.
• REFERENCES.
• ANNEXES
