Scala Kids Chess Club Website Reward Feature

I currently run a Scala based chess club website for students age 8-15. I am looking for a Scala programmer who is excited to help me build new features for my students. You'll be working with the open-source code from Lichess org. This project will involve adding new features to my chess reward/incentive system that would recognize that a student is showing an improvement in their chess skills even if they do not win the game.

The system by which student's tactics and successes are recognized and rewarded is already complete. Students earn "coins" for their strong moves. They can use those coins to purchase items in one of several different shops. The next shop to be created and the focus on this project will be called the "Monster Shop" I will provide png sprite sheets to create animations for each creature. Students will purchase creatures called "Chess Mates" that will serve as a mascot or pet that will be present in their chess matches below their chess clock.

Requirements:
- Strong Scala programming skills
- Experience with web development, especially with website feature incorporation
- Mongodb experience. As aspects of my reward system are stored in Mongo
- Familiarity with Lichess org codebase would be a plus, although not necessary

Deliverables
The monster shop will have the following deliverables:
UI structure to purchase creatures. The other shops that have already been created use the open source HTML5 game framework Student's purchases will be stored in the Mongodb database

A reproduceable way to create each monster's animation states from the provided sprite sheet

A system will be created to allow the monsters to be deployed below the chess clock or in the tournament waiting room

The creature will walk back and forth and seemingly react to student's moves. In reality the creature will randomly choose one of several animations or emotes when a player captures a piece or puts their opponent in check. The creatures will have no connection to the analysis engine so will just be feature to make their experience more exciting.
