Tekla to SAP2000 & SAFE Conversion
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I already have a complete steel structure modeled in Tekla and now need the same model reproduced in SAP2000 so I can run a fresh global analysis and member design there. Once the steel frame is fully validated, I also want the entire foundation system built and designed in either ETABS or SAFE—whichever you find more efficient for footings, slabs and tie beams.
You will start from the native Tekla file (or IFC if you prefer) that I will provide, carry over every member, section size and connection point, and recreate the load cases and combinations so that reactions and deflections remain consistent. After the superstructure is confirmed, import those reactions into a new ETABS/SAFE model, apply realistic soil springs and complete the full foundation design.
Deliverables
• SAP2000 file mirroring the Tekla geometry, properties and load combinations, ready for analysis
• Foundation model in ETABS or SAFE with all design checks completed
• Concise calculation report outlining assumptions, governing code clauses (AISC, Eurocode or another mutually agreed standard), utilisation ratios and optimisation notes
• All native files plus a PDF export of the report
Acceptance criteria
1. Geometry and connectivity match the Tekla model within ±1 mm
2. Global deflections and reactions stay within 5 % of current Tekla outputs under identical load cases
3. Foundation design shows utilisation ≤ 1.0 for all elements under factored combinations
I will supply the Tekla files and load schedule as soon as we begin. Let’s agree on the code to follow, the timeline and any other information you need to get started.
