SAP – Tax Vertex Integration Consultant – SAP S/4 Implementation

This Medical Devices client is embarking on a multi-year SAP implementation and is looking for the following candidate. The Consultant is responsible for leading the successful implementation of Vertex Tax Solution as it integrates with SAP S/4.
This role includes responsibility for the following:
• Provide deep SAP functional & technical expertise in the given process area, as well as demonstrated knowledge of key integration points across SAP modules and technical components.
• Lead design for and deployment of highly complicated, integrated end-to-end solutions; facilitate integration with other IT delivery team member to ensure efficient and effective design, development, and implementation of solutions.
• Provide leadership in planning/sequencing of end-to-end design workshops and support facilitation of workshops, leveraging knowledge of industry best practices and application of global SAP implementation experience.
• Determining highest priority requirements for the group and managing expectations related to any changes to agreed priorities/requirements
• Documenting the business requirements, including detailed process flows where applicable
• Collaborating with the Development Team to determine the best solution design
• Creating or reviewing functional specifications for development team
• Participating in the review and prioritization of business enhancement requests for potential inclusion in subsequent product releases
• Configuration for both new indirect/direct tax solutions and the deployment of existing functionality
• Testing enhancements either through scheduled integration testing or on an ad-hoc basis for break-fix items
• The FAO is accountable for the successful and timely completion of all Unit and QA testing
• So knowledge of the integration of Vertex Tax solution to some or all of the following SAP Modules
o SAP Sales and Distribution (SD):
o SAP Materials Management (MM):
o SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling (FI/CO):
o SAP Payroll:
o SAP Advanced Compliance Reporting (ACR).
• Documenting integrated business scenarios as well as the creation and management of a test script repository for indirect and direct tax localization
• Validating that the solution meets the global and local legal/business requirements
• This includes ensuring that solutions developed are consistent with the general client’s template design and meet the expected level of usability.
• Participating in the deployment of the SAP enhancements and break-fix items to the client’s user base, including:
• Participating and advising on the creation of training materials
• Providing hands-on training where required both to internal teams and external business users
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
• Strong business process knowledge and expertise
• 5-7 years’ experience of SAP To/from Vertex integration experience
• Direct hands on configuration experience with the Vertex Accelerator
• Candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of SAP FI Tax Configuration, Tax Procedure and MM Pricing Procedure
• Experience with tax technology applications (e.g. OneSource, Vertex, Avalara, Sovos /Taxware, Oracle Enterprise Business Tax)
• Candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of supporting Canadian and US tax requirements
• Candidate will also have implemented SAP tax solutions for multiple countries.
• Good understanding of SAP Development the candidate will be comfortable with ABAP concepts and principles with some debugging knowledge.
• Ability to analyze complex business scenarios and present a concise recommendation for resolution
• Ability to translate the business requirement to technical requirements vice versa and effectively communicate to a broad audience
• Able to work on US Mountain Time.
• Role will be for an initial 2-3 month contract duration and depending on performance will be extended to a rolling multi-year contract
