SAP IBP Inventory Optimization

Our supply-chain team has already rolled out SAP IBP for demand and supply planning, but we need rapid, expert attention on the Inventory Optimization module so we can balance service levels with working-capital goals before our next planning cycle.

What I need you to do
• Review our current IBP configuration, master data, and planning operators that influence inventory targets.
• Design and build an Inventory Optimization model that sets multi-echelon safety-stock policies aligned with our business rules.
• Validate the model with historical data, run what-if simulations in the Excel Add-in, and fine-tune parameters until forecast-accuracy and turn benchmarks are met.
• Connect the final consensus outputs back to our SAP S/4HANA environment, ensuring key figures and alerts flow seamlessly into Response & Supply Planning.
• Document each step so future releases or enhancements are straightforward.

Acceptance criteria
1. Inventory targets generated by the new model improve turns by at least 5 % while maintaining agreed service levels.
2. All planning operators, key figures, and attribute transformations are clearly described in a handover guide.
3. Integration jobs to and from S/4HANA run without errors for two consecutive cycles.
4. User testing in the Excel Add-in confirms data consistency across all planning areas.

Timeline
This work is urgent; we aim to complete analysis, configuration, and first production run within the coming weeks.
