Webassembly wasm and Rust expert needed(test project)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are looking for an expert on Webassembly and Rust. Ideally, someone who can work with us long term. We will start with a fixed fee test project first.
For the fixed fee test project, you will implement the following using Rust + Wasm:
- Lazy load a large CSV file (say 5Gb) selected by user. Say file has multiple columns of mixed types (string, float, date)
- Parse the file and get aggregate values based on a category(string) column, i.e. groupby category column and sum floats, in pandas this would be something like df.groupby("colName").sum()
- Present output on screen (top X categories)
Some requirements:
- Handle dates gracefully
- Speed is important (polars dataframe use preferable)
Part of this fixed fee project is to be able to clearly walk the team through your work and steps. Good English communications is important on account of this potentially being long term. The test project will pay the full fee specified upon task completion and we will discuss ongoing engagement. However, there is no partial payment if you spend time on the project but are unable to complete the task regardless of the time you may have spent on it. As such, please apply only if you have good expertise in Rust+Wasm and are confident you can do this
