Offline ChatGPT-style App Development
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm building a private, offline, ChatGPT-style desktop app that runs fully on the user's machine, no cloud, no data sharing. It's open-source, local-first, and privacy-focused.
I'm looking for a senior full-stack developer to join as a core contributor and co-builder from day one.
Why this matters:
This is an early-stage open-source project aimed at becoming a major tool in the local AI ecosystem. As a founding contributor, you have real influence over architecture decisions, and build something people actually care about.
What we're building:
Tauri (Rust backend + React frontend), local LLM inference via llama.cpp, OpenAI-compatible local API, fully offline privacy-first architecture.
What I'm looking for:
Strong Rust/Tauri and React experience, comfortable working in public on open-source projects, good communicator who can explain their thinking, available during EST hours for daily pairing.
Required: Daily 1-hour pair programming during EST hours. This is how we'll build momentum and how I'll learn alongside you. If that doesn't work for you, this isn't the right fit.
$500 USD budget: The budget is limited for this initial phase, but you'll be credited as a main contributor with first priority for paid collaboration as the project grows.
