Ruby ecosystem

Job ID: 32194987

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

3. System Features and Requirements
3.1 Functional Requirements
3.1.1 The program will construct a grid (up to 8 by 8 1 km squared squares in size) that it will control throughout the simulation
3.1.2 The simulation will allow users to directly interfere with the events of the simulation by entering commands that can cause and stop events and directly changing the populations of species.
3.1.3 The grid will be populated with multiple species of plants and animals.
3.1.4 The populations of these species will change depending on various factors including predation, starvation, and dehydration.
3.1.5 Available water will change depending on precipitation and water runoff.
3.1.6 Natural disasters will be able to occur if certain requirements are met
3.2 External Interface Requirements
We will need some way of putting output on a window and taking in text input from that same window.
3.3 System Features
Text based game
An ecosystem simulation game which tracks different species and how they interact and survive Given an ecosystem.
Ecosystem consists of both plants and animals
Temperature range
Option to add a multitude of random weather events
Food needed
Water needed
Population maximum threshold per species
Let user decide how random/predetermined the simulation will be
Provide commands to allow the user to directly intervene if the user wishes.
Add natural disasters that affect things differently
Grid based map with different attributes per zone(elevation and precipitation)
Customizing parameters such as map size, precipitation, and elevation on creation of scenario
Provide graph at the end of the simulation showing population changes over time

Preferably game runs with Ruby 2d on Mac and windows
