Ruby/Crystal Language Developer for Linux Web App Modification

Description:
We have a web app running on an Ubuntu machine, written in Crystal https://crystal-lang.org/. This app functions as a service, hosting a web portal that reads items via a sensor and submits them to an endpoint.
Modification Required:
We need to add an input field to the top right corner of the web portal. This field will allow users to manually scan a barcode, press enter, and have the item displayed on the screen below.

Requirements:
* Speak English and willing to communicate with us via screen share & audio.
* Available during USA, Los Angeles time zone.
* Must complete the task within a maximum of 3 days.
* Estimated effort: 2-4 hours for familiarization, 5-8 hours for modification and testing. We will assist with testing and provide a remote walkthrough of the app via Zoom and audio calls.
Skills Required:
