Help me implement Ruby FCGI
Budget: $40 – $60 USD
I'm implementing a web-based API written in Ruby and hosted on a Dreamhost VPS, and would like someone to talk me through getting FCGI working.
Here are some details of my situation:
1. The Dreamhost VPS does NOT give me root access.
2. mod_fcgi (note: not mod_fastcgi) is already installed on the system.
3. The FCGI Ruby gem is not installed, and when I try "gem install fcgi" I get errors.
4. I'm doing simple Ruby CGI. No Rails involved.
5. Server is Apache/2.4.38
6. OS is Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Instead of just having you do whatever needs to be done, I'd like to set up a zoom in which I share my screen and you talk me through the steps to get a simple Ruby FCGI test script working. That way, I'll learn it for myself and better understand what's happening under the hood. Let me know in your response how long you think this would take, and/or if there's any other information about the system you need to estimate it more accurately.
