Create an application/plugin under SketchUp
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
We have created dynamic components for the SketchUp program that adjust their geometry according to specified parameters (for example, width, height, type, etc.).
We need to create an application/plugin under SketchUp, which will ensure that our prepared dynamic components are generated on our servers, or directly in the plugin according to the parameters entered by the user in the plugin interface, and it will then send the geometry directly to the user's model. Thus, the user will not have access directly to the dynamic component itself. The plugin will be accessed based on entering the user's email and password directly in the SketchUp plugin (verification with the database).
Since we have different components with different parameters, it would be best if we could easily modify and define which parameters the user should define (through some variables, for example).
Our idea of how it works (it can change based on a discussion with the plugin developer, we'll get advice):
- through the plugin interface (HTML, for example), the user logs in with an email and password
- through the plugin interface (HTML, for example) enter the parameters that we will be able to edit as needed
- the parameters are processed in the backend (Ruby for SKP/Python for example) and the user will not have direct access to the calculation formulas
- geometry is imported into the model according to the specified parameters, no longer as a dynamic component, but as a simple group/component (without calculation formulas, other types, etc.)
- the name of the group/component will be generated based on the parameters entered by the user (not always the same)
Our idea of cooperation with you:
- discussion with you and specification of requirements and options (your cooperation required)
- more precise definition of deadlines and checkpoints
- processing the plugin itself into a version for testing and debugging (internal testing, not online launch)
- modification based on testing
- Your submission of the work (plugin) for the final
- Your advice when setting up the necessary adjustments on our servers/website (if necessary)
- our launch online for users
- possible corrections based on reports from users
Our requirements for you:
- communication in English with us and your advice during development (we are not developers, we ask for advice to achieve the best result)
- compliance with individual deadlines, checkpoints
- experience with a similar assignment (preferably a sample of the plugin you implemented)
- experience with SketchUp
