T2 not processing images on my AWS compute instance (Ruby on Rails)

I have a Ruby on Rails website that sells erotic artwork on AWS. Unfortunately, when I upload a product image, it no longer processes. My AWS has three T2s and the website works, but a separate T2 processes all images and that isn't working. I've tried rebooting it myself to no avail.
Once this is fixed, I am having an issue with bots spam registering. I'd like to implement some type of captcha at the login page and the registration page and to mass clear those accounts from the database.
I am considering moving the website to a more common language, such as Python. This would be a separate, long-term project.
