We are looking for a developer to make up part of a 3-5 person development team for the next ~3 months, expect heavy involvement (additional work possible in future).
We have planned out 80% of the new website's functions and the basic skeleton of the site will be built when you start. We expect the site to handle:
- Authentication
- Encryption
- File uploads/downloads to S3
- PDF generation/manipulation using Prawn or equivalent.
- Email integration.
- Hosting with Heroku.
- A CMS component, probably using Refinery CMS.
- A test-driven development (TDD) methodology.
Required:
- Experience building websites that are now in production, and the ability to link us to those sites.
- Experience building sites for corporate clients that use MySQL/SQLite/PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience working with other developers and using git for codebase work.
- Clear, commented code with a consistent formatting style.
- Emphasis on simplicity. Relevant variable names, short clear functions, etc.
Preferred:
- Front-end competency building pages in .html.erb.
- Experience maintaining corporate Rails sites in production, esp. on Heroku.
- Ability to link to live Rails projects built personally (or specific areas built personally).
Experience:
- At least three prior corporate Ruby on Rails projects.
