Ruby-on-Rails application for Mobile App

The candidate will be put in charge of an enterprise Ruby-on-Rails application that provides and manages data to a current iOS app, with an Android app following closely behind. There may be some assistance from another developer, but the candidate will be taking the lead.

Responsibilities:
Developing new features for the API
Writing bug fixes for issues as they arise
Managing the app in Heroku (or possibly another platform)
Managing 3rd party services the app works with such as AWS S3 and Sendgrid
Developing an admin platform for the app
Maintaining testability and writing new tests for features as they develop
Tracking backend performance analytics
Upgrading current backend performance
Writing complex data migrations as needed
Maintaining API backwards compatibility as needed
Working to minimize server maintenance costs
Skills/Experience Required
2+ years experience maintaining web server code (Ruby strongly preferred)
Strong SQL and ActiveRecord experience
Experience managing servers on Heroku or AWS, including database migration, cloning and rollbacks
Ability to write performant and scalable code
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Skills/Experience Preferred
Front end web and/or mobile development experience
Project management experience
Experience working with push notifications from the server side
Design experience
