Ruby on Rails Senior Dev with Shopify Plus and DevOps Experience
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
Ishka has recently undergone a change in ownership and we are looking to relaunch the business ASAP.
The company has been around since 1971 and was family owned up until this year.
TRADING METHODS:
Ishka trades in 3 separate ways:
In store – Physical locations
Online – Ishka.com.au
Dropshipping – Suppliers directly selling their product through our website
PRIMARY APPLICATIONS:
Oracle Netsuite: Ishka uses Oracle Netsuite as our ERP system. All customers, sales, orders, fulfilments, suppliers, etc. exist within Netsuite.
Shopify Plus: Shopify is our web hosting platform, Ishka.com.au is on that platform
Online orders are shipped from our physical store locations
Dropship app (RoR): The Ishka dropship app is a ruby on rails application that links by API to Netsuite.
OVERVIEW:
In Store:
Ishka stores use a POS application called Suit Commerce in Store which was developed by the Oracle Netsuite team to be a cloud based POS application that directly links to the back end of Netsuite.
Online:
The Ishka website has undergone a lot of change in the last few years, we’re currently trading on the Shopify platform and we ship our orders directly from our Physical store locations and a few small warehouses.
We allow in store pickup for orders and orders can be split up to 5 times based on the location of the items being purchased.
We have some items that are marked as “Click and collect only” which means that we do not allow shipping and the item must be picked up in store.
There are several RoR applications that integrate Netsuite and Shopify:
DISCOUNTS: The Discount app links directly to Shopify and our previous developer would set up large scale promotions using this app that would apply to the items on our website.
For Example: If we had a 60% off all items sale it would be created in the Discount app then applied to the website based on item tags. There are always exclusions like dropship items and sometimes other select items. There are also Free Shipping promotions which were created by our previous dev using this application.
INVENTORY: The inventory application syncs the stock levels of all items in Netsuite based on their location. The location stock information is then put together as one location and sent to Shopify.
When a customer purchases an item Shopify then communicates with the Inventory app and the stock is adjusted in the appropriate location and that is sent to Netsuite
CNC (Click and Collect): All orders with a click and collect (in store pickup) line are fed to the CnC application and this will send the click and collect order line correctly through to Netsuite
CNS (Click and Ship): This application hosts all of our shipping and allocation rules, using this application orders are split up and allocated to their location based on the inventory app. If all acceptable locations return 0 stock on hand for an item that has been ordered that line is assigned to a location called “Click and Ship Overflow” and is automatically refunded
Freight Calculator: This application is fed the order information from the CNS app and the customer’s location and will calculate the cost of shipping based on Australia Post rates.
Dropshipping:
Dropshipping is a fairly new part to Ishka’s trading methods.
These flow chart shows how Dropship items, orders, and fulfilments are created:
UPCOMING CHANGES:
As Ishka has new owners we need to change the “Subsidiary” of all items, locations, suppliers, etc.. in Netsuite.
This will mean new location IDs for the Dropship application and for the Shopify integration applications.
As such we will need the new developer to work with us to ensure all of the applications that need changes made are successfully updated, tested then pushed to production when we decide to do the full cutover.
We require someone that can maintain all middleware apps, resolve issues that come up and work with us on upcoming projects.
