We are seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails full-stack developer with strong AWS DevOps skills to join our team on an ad hoc basis.
This is a flexible, project-based role with an immediate start, perfect for a skilled freelancer / agency who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Our company currently invests over $20,000 annually in development, reflecting the scale and consistency of work we offer to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain full-stack Ruby on Rails applications.
* Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure (DevOps tasks including deployment, scaling, and monitoring).
* Collaborate with our team via Slack, video calls, and Trello for project management.
* Deliver high-quality, well-tested code on an ad hoc basis as projects arise.
Requirements:
* Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails (full-stack development).
* Strong AWS DevOps experience (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, CI/CD pipelines).
* Time Zone: Must have a minimum of 6-hour overlap with New Zealand time (NZDT, UTC+13) from Monday to Sunday. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
* Fluent in English (written and verbal) for seamless communication.
* Comfortable using Trello for project management (our board) and Slack/video calls for team collaboration.
* Must provide references from previous clients we can contact to vet your work.
Details:
Budget: $25/hour.
Engagement: Ad hoc/project-based only—no retainer.
Start Date: Immediate.
