Job Title: Ruby on Rails Developer (Japanese Speaking)
Location: Freelancer
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code
Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Fluent in Japanese to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and team members
Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications stay current and competitive
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer (3+ years)
Proficiency in Japanese (N2 level or higher)
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Familiarity with front-end technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with other programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js)
Familiarity with cloud-based services, such as AWS or Google Cloud
Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
