Fullstack Rails developer needed for extending lead enrichment data system
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are a small team building a lead enrichment system based in the Southern and Western United States. We need a developer with a flexible schedule who can take on a project with a variable workload.
Our system is a Rails 6 application that takes in scraped data from an API, processes it, and structures it for specific marketing and data analysis purposes.
The stack consists of the following technologies:
- Hosted by Heroku
- PostgreSQL database
- Sidekiq for backend job execution
- Mailgun for email delivery
We are looking for a developer meeting the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience professionally building Rails 5+/Rack applications.
- Excellent English abilities. This system is not trivial and requires extensive communications, often involving metaphors and various abstractions. You need to be at least conversational in English for voice calls.
- Familiarity with REST API integrations
- Comfortable communicating over the phone,
- Sufficient free time to devote to this application (20 hours per week, but workload is variable)
Nice to have:
- Strong intellectual curiosity
- Holistic, systems-based thinker. Understand the whole picture and how the components interact together harmoniously.
- Web scraping experience. Parsing information in a variety of contexts, such as web pages
- Experience working with geospatial tasks
- Able to translate client requests into features
- Automation-focused mindset
Important note on workload:
This job comes with a highly variable workload. We are incrementally building out features in sprints, and these sprints will be spaced out over time. Applicants should expect intense bursts of work followed by weeks (or possibly months) of no work.
