Expert Rails Back End Developer

LaunchEngine is looking for a Rails Developer who is not only adept at code, but also has the capacity for high level thinking and problem solving. This position will play a key role in the design, implementation and support of services for our partners and customers.

Responsibilities:
Be awesome. You know what that means.
Develop new and interesting features in Ruby on Rails.
Maintain existing applications.
Testing and bug fixes.
Participate in discussions to make our services better.

Qualifications:
Your machine must have a camera for Zoom video calls.
You must have a good internet connection.
Your computer system must be reliable.
Strong problem solving skills.
Must be able to follow directions and be self motivated.
Strong Ruby/Rails skills - 3 years minimum.
Unix/Linux administration.
Strong knowledge of SQL and databases.
Recent experience with Git and GitHub - you use it almost every day.
Recent experience with any RDBMS.
Experience with RSpec.
Experience with project management software.

Technical Competencies:
Possesses a strong body of technical and application knowledge.
Web Services and API development are a strong plus.
Experience with docker and docker-compose are a strong plus.
Experience with AWS services.
Experience with Linode, Digital Ocean, AWS, or similar service.
Experience with heroku.

Bonus Points:
You contribute to open-source tools (gems, libraries, etc).
You are able to demonstrate how continuous learning is important to you.
Your GitHub profile is evidence of your active and ongoing work with the open-source world demonstrates your passion for technology.
Have worked with non-profits as a software developer.
Have experience working in a startup environment.
Have experience with Asana
Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS 3, JavaScript, JSON, etc.
Strong JavaScript skills
Experience with Vue and Nuxt

Your Code: You MUST be able to demonstrate competence in a recent project. If you are unable to demonstrate a recent project because of an NDA, no longer have access to the project, etc then it will NOT count.
