Budget: $15 – $25 USD

We need a game developer for our game, Marginal error.

We need a game developer to work alongside our developer to make a prototype which we will then use to launch a Patreon/Kickstarter along with preset to investors. If everything goes according to plan we then will resume development to game completion.

The game is being worked on Ruby on Rails, and this is a required skill

The game is a web-based multiplayer strategy game. The entire gameplay is a 2d map, so the game will be graphically light. we had inspiration from Warhammer, Territorial.io, Neptune Pride and Stellaris.

For the first phase we would like to work closely with the developer to not only make the prototype, but also that we may assess how realistic our plans for the game are in accordance to performance.

Marginal Error Gameplay:
Marginal Error is a web-based multiplayer game with a top-down view of the universe, with each player either being the ruler of their own empire, or in charge of a section of someone else's empire. While it is multiplayer, the game would take place over the course of a couple weeks. This universe would also be very habitable, with your empire having control of millions of planets at a time, and by extension, millions of warships. The goal of the game is to manage diplomacy, resources and warfare to conquer the galaxy.

Galactic empires are bureaucratic powerhouses, with the inhabitants of empires spreading like a virus with exponential growth. Each “sector” would comprise millions of planets which can either be dedicated to making credits, mining minerals, researching, building warships or fortresses. Not all planets are made equal, as undisturbed and older planets being more developed than their counterparts constantly swapping hands in combat, or recently colonized. Empires could generally run themselves if left alone, however the rulers have an arsenal in the form of ‘edicts’ which consume resources but steer the empire by providing bonuses depending on the edict. Combat is a big part of the game, with warships making up both the defense and offense.
