UiPath Desktop Form Automation

I need a UiPath workflow that fills out repetitive forms inside our in-house desktop application. The app is custom-built, so selectors can be unpredictable and some screens load dynamically. My goal is to eliminate manual typing by having the robot pull values from a structured Excel or CSV file, open the application, navigate through each screen, populate every mandatory field, and save the record.

Key points to keep in mind
• Application type: Windows desktop (custom build, no web components).
• Task: Pure form filling—no document scraping or system-to-system migration.
• Expected record volume: a few hundred entries per run, with the possibility of scaling.
• Typical fields: text boxes, drop-downs, date pickers, and a couple of check boxes.
• Environment: UiPath Studio/Robot (current LTS release) on Windows 10.

Deliverables
1. UiPath .xaml project with clear variable names and annotations.
2. Config file or arguments for file paths and credentials so nothing is hard-coded.
3. Setup guide (PDF or Markdown) showing how to run the bot and map selectors if the UI changes.
4. Simple logging and exception handling so any failed record is written to a log without stopping the entire run.

Acceptance criteria
• Workflow runs unattended through UiPath Assistant and completes at least 100 sample records without manual touch-ups.
• All mandatory fields are filled correctly; validation errors are captured and reported.
• Code review passes basic UiPath best practices (reusable components, no absolute delays unless required).

With these pieces in place I’ll be able to shift our data entry staff to higher-value tasks and rely on the bot for consistent, error-free form submissions.
