Romance Short Story Mentor Needed
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I spend most of my writing time on short, character-driven romance pieces and I’m determined to raise their quality. At the moment my drafts capture the basic plot, but I still struggle to shape believable arcs and create the emotional depth that keeps readers turning pages. What I need is a seasoned storyteller who can guide me through practical improvements, show me why a scene works—or doesn’t—and leave me with tools I can reuse on future stories.
Here’s how I picture our collaboration:
• Each week I’ll send one draft (about 1 500–3 000 words).
• You return it with tracked-change line edits plus a separate summary that digs into character motivation, chemistry and pacing.
• We wrap up with a short call or chat so I can ask follow-up questions and turn your notes into clear next steps.
Acceptance criteria for every round:
1. Tracked-change document returned on time.
2. Development notes cover character goals, internal conflict and relationship progression.
3. Suggestions include at least one actionable exercise I can apply immediately.
If you have samples of romantic shorts you’ve edited or written yourself, send one along with a brief note on how you approach character development. Bilingual feedback (Indonesian & English) would be a welcome bonus, but clarity and passion for romance matter most.
Let’s turn these rough drafts into stories that make readers fall in love right alongside the characters.
