Student Film's RC Robots

Job ID: 38288503

Budget: $50 – $500 CAD

I'm working on a student film and need four identical remote control robots. The purpose of these robots is purely for entertaining scenes in the film, so their complexity isn't strenuous.

I have already designed the look of the robot so now I am looking for someone to apply the mechanical elements. In terms of mobility, I would like for it to move on treads. Another Ideal function would be for the head to rotate, and 180 degree rotation is all I need. An ideal but optional function is for the robots to be able to tilt forward or backward in order for them to look up or down. Another note is that I plan to have an arm on the robots, but I would make this arm move through puppeteering rather than robotics.

Ideal Skills:

- Mechatronics
- Robotics

Experience:

- Experience in creating functioning robotic models
- Familiarity with remote control mechanisms.

Approximate Measurements:

Body - Height: 9 1/2 inches - Top diameter: 8 1/2 inches - Bottom diameter: 6 1/2 inches
Lid - Height: 4 inches - Diameter: 8 1/2 inches
Together - Height: 13 1/2 inches

As you can see from the attachments, the robot is made from a trash can, the parts are primarily plastic, apart from the lens which is a camera lens. The weight of this lens could cause issues with balancing the robot. Especially if it has tilting functionality.
