Custom Bottle Sumo Robot Build

Job ID: 40178999

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am preparing for a two-phase LEGO Spike Prime competition. Phase one is “Bottle Sumo,” where the robot must locate and shove 5 clear plastic bottles off the table; Phase two upgrades the same platform to battle an opposing robot. My biggest obstacle is an original mechanical design—competition rules state the build cannot resemble anything already published online—so I need fresh engineering ideas as well as performance-driven code.

You are free to choose any 4 Spike-compatible sensors; Color and ultrasonic are the obvious options, but I am open to creative combinations if they give us faster edge detection, more decisive pushes, or smarter opponent tracking. Robust torque, a low center of gravity, and reliable bottle contact are priorities. Once the basic chassis dominates Bottle Sumo we will tune weight distribution, traction, and attack logic for the head-to-head round.

Deliverables
• Step-by-step build instructions (PDF or Studio file) with complete parts list
• Spike Prime programming (block-based) ready to upload

• Commented code so I can tweak tactics between matches

Acceptance criteria
• Clears both standard 2 l bottles in under 30 seconds.
• Never drives over the edge.
• Structural design is not visually traceable to any existing online model

If everything performs as specified we can extend the collaboration to refine the heavyweight Sumo variant.
